Croatian coach Krunoslav Jurčić, the head coach of Pyramids FC, emphasized the difficulty of the upcoming clash against Angolan side Sagrada tomorrow, Saturday, in the CAF Champions League.
Pyramids will face Sagrada at 4 PM GMT on Saturday at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda as part of the fifth round of the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
During the pre-match press conference, the head coach stated that the match will be extremely difficult, especially as they face a strong team playing on their home ground and in front of their fans. Sagrada still has a solid chance to qualify, holding 5 points and needing a win to advance in the group. However, Pyramids will fight with full strength and motivation in tomorrow's match and confirm their qualification to the quarterfinals of the continental competition.
Jurčić pointed out that the recent win against Tunisian giants Esperance gave the team great confidence and the spirit needed to continue their winning streak. It proved that Pyramids is a top-tier team with the capabilities to take its rightful place in African football. The team's clear objective is to advance to the next round and maintain impressive performances both domestically and continentally.
The coach also stressed that the 5-0 victory over Sagrada in Cairo means nothing ahead of tomorrow's match. He explained that this is a completely different game with significant implications for the group standings and qualification to the next stage.
Jurčić stated that he spoke to the players about forgetting the Cairo result and approaching the Luanda match with a fresh mindset. He emphasized that a win ensures qualification and that Pyramids plays every match with the goal of winning, regardless of the circumstances or whether the game is held in Egypt or abroad.
