Pyramids claim valuable win over Haras El Hodoud in Nile Egyptian League

Pyramids FC secured an important 3-1 victory over hosts Haras El Hodoud in their clash during the 21st round of the Nile Egyptian League.

Pyramids opened the scoring in the 42nd minute after Mohamed Chibi launched a throw-in into the penalty area, which was met by a header from Marwan Hamdy that beat the goalkeeper and found the net.

The visitors doubled their lead in the 62nd minute when Marwan Hamdy delivered a pass inside the box to Mahmoud Zalaka, who struck the ball directly into the right side of the goal.

Haras El Hodoud managed to reduce the deficit in the 70th minute after being awarded a penalty. Mohamed Ashraf Roqa initially saw his spot-kick saved by Ahmed El Shenawy, but he followed up the rebound to score and make it 2-1.

However, Youssef Obama sealed the victory for the sky blues in the 87th minute after receiving the ball inside the area and finishing into the net.

With this result, Pyramids continue their push for the top of the Nile Egyptian League table, level on points with leaders Zamalek SC and third-placed Al Ahly SC, while Zamalek are set to face Al Ittihad Alexandria in the same round.

Meanwhile, Haras El Hodoud remain at the bottom of the standings with 17 points after this defeat.
