Pyramids FC achieved a historic milestone by lifting the CAF Super Cup for the first time in their history, defeating Morocco’s RS Berkane 1–0 thanks to a decisive strike from Fiston Mayele. The victory added a fourth major trophy to the club’s cabinet and marked another step forward in the rise of the Egyptian side on the continental stage.
Team captain Ali Gabr revealed the reasons behind the team spirit.
“The secret behind the spirit you see from Pyramids players is that everyone loves each other and thinks about the team first,” Gabr told beIN Sports. “No one cares about who starts or who sits on the bench. The coach and the management have created a great atmosphere inside the squad.”
Despite the celebrations, Gabr indicated that the focus must quickly return to upcoming challenges.
“We’ll celebrate tonight, but tomorrow we have another game in the Egyptian League against Pharco. There’s still time before thinking about the Intercontinental Cup in Qatar. We also have big matches ahead in the league and the CAF Champions League.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Walid El Karti reflected on the significance of the triumph, describing it as a reward for years of hard work and persistence.
“It was a tough match against a team that had already won the African Super Cup before,” El Karti told beIN Sports. “We were determined to win this title for the first time in our history. This success is the fruit of the past years — every player gave his all, and victory was our destiny. Match after match and trophy after trophy, our ambitions keep growing.”
With this Super Cup victory, Pyramids continue to establish themselves among Africa’s elite clubs, combining ambition, unity, and growing experience on the continental stage.
