Three stars absent from Pyramids squad in big clash against Al Masry

Pyramids FC have confirmed that winger Mostafa Fathi will miss the upcoming Nile Egyptian League clash against Al Masry due to injury.

Dr. Mostafa El-Moniry, head of the club’s medical staff, revealed that Fathi complained of pain during training on Sunday. Subsequent scans showed he had sustained a tear in the anterior muscle.

El-Moniry explained that the player will be out for a period of time and will undergo a rehabilitation program to prepare him for a return to action and join Pyramids squad in future games.

Pyramids visit Al Masry at 9:00 PM Local Time (6:00 PM GMT) on Tuesday at the New Suez Stadium in the third round of the Nile Egyptian League.

The team will be also without suspended duo Walid El Karti and Blati Toure.

Meanwhile, head coach Krunoslav Jurčić has announced his 23-man Pyramids squad for the fixture.

Pyramids Squad List Against Al Masry:

  • Goalkeepers: Ahmed El-Shenawy, Mahmoud Gad, Ziad Haitham.

  • Defenders: Mahmoud Marei, Ahmed Samy, Osama Galal, Tarek Alaa, Karim Hafez, Mohamed Chibi, Mohamed Hamdy.

  • Midfielders: Ahmed Tawfik, Mahmoud Abdel-Aaty “Dunga”, Mohanad Lasheen, Abdel Rahman Magdy, Ahmed Atef “Qotta”, Mostafa Ziko, Everton da Silva, Mohamed Reda “Bobo”, Mahmoud Zalaka.

  • Forwards: Dodo El-Gabas, Youssef Obama, Fiston Mayele, Marwan Hamdy.

Pyramids are seventh in Nile Egyptian League table with 4 points, two behind leaders Al Masry, after a draw and a win in their opening two matches.
