Pyramids FC will be without Nigerian winger Sodiq Awujoola for their crucial first-leg clash against South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League final.
The first leg is scheduled for Saturday, May 24, at 1:00 PM GMT, at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
Dr. Mostafa El Monaiery, Head of the Medical Staff at Pyramids FC, explained the reason behind Awujoola’s absence from the team’s trip to South Africa.
He stated that the player felt a knee pain during Tuesday’s training session and underwent medical scan and it was decided that Awujoola remains in Cairo to begin rehabilitation training, with the aim of being ready for the second leg, which will take place on June 1 at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo.
