Rahimi fires Al Ain into UAE President’s Cup final with extra-time brace

Moroccan star Soufiane Rahimi led Al Ain FC to a crucial 2-0 victory over United FC, booking their place in the UAE President’s Cup final.

The semi-final clash, held at Al Nahyan Stadium in Abu Dhabi, ended goalless in regular time, with both sides unable to break the deadlock across 90 minutes.

Rahimi stepped up in extra time to decide the encounter. He opened the scoring in the 102nd minute from the penalty spot, converting to give Al Ain the lead.

The Moroccan forward then sealed the win in the 111th minute, capitalizing on a costly mistake from United’s goalkeeper to slot the ball into an empty net.

With this victory, Al Ain advance to the final of the competition, where they will face Al Jazira Club, who secured their place after defeating Shabab Al Ahli in the other semi-final.
