Nigeria women's national team captain Rasheedat Ajibade is set to make a decision on her club future after the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) which is to be played in Morocco in 2025.

Come the end of this month, Ajibade will leave Spanish Liga F club, Atlético Madrid Feminino, after spending four years with the Spanish side. The 25-year-old made her final appearance for Atlético against Barcelona on Saturday.

She has however been said to receive an offer from a club in the USA's National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) that is yet to be named. Ajibade has decided to put all transfer talks on hold until after the WAFCON 2024 finals in July.

She joined Atletico Madrid in January 2021 from the Norwegian club Avaldsnes IL, and has made 139 appearances scoring 40 goals. The forward now sets her sights on the WAFCON as she will hope to lead Nigeria to win a record-extending tenth title in Morocco.

Coach Justine Madugu’s Super Falcons side will face Tunisia, Botswana and Algeria in Group B at the competition.
