Rashid Toha seals move to Saudi Arabian side

South Sudanese defender Rashid Toha has completed a transfer to Saudi Arabian third-tier outfit Al-Shoulla Club, marking a new chapter in his professional career.

Toha joins the Al-Kharj–based side as a free agent following his departure from Kenya Premier League champions, Kenya Police FC, at the end of the previous season.

The towering centre-back has signed a one-year deal with Al-Shoulla, who host their home matches at the Al-Shoulla Club Stadium in Al-Kharj, Riyadh.

The move sees Toha join a growing list of East African players plying their trade in Saudi Arabia.

Toha first made his name at Onduparaka FC

His former Uganda Premier League counterpart Musa Esenu recently signed for Al-Safa Club, also in the Saudi third division, while Uganda Cranes midfielder Kenneth Semakula features for Al-Adalah Club in the second tier.

Toha first made his name at Onduparaka FC in 2016 before earning stints at Vipers SC and Arua Hill SC.

His consistency and leadership at the back later earned him a move to Kenya Police FC in 2023, where he helped the club secure their maiden league title before making the switch to Saudi Arabia.

The South Sudan international will now look to use his experience to bolster Al-Shoulla’s defence as they aim for promotion this season.
