Manchester City have officially confirmed the signing of Algerian left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri from Wolverhampton Wanderers, in what marks one of the club’s headline moves of the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old signs a five-year contract that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium until June 2030. The signing was announced on Manchester City’s official website, where Ait-Nouri shared his excitement about the move.
Ait-Nouri: “A dream come true”
Speaking to the club’s website, Aït-Nouri expressed his pride and excitement at joining one of the world’s top clubs.
“I am incredibly happy and honoured to have joined Manchester City,” he said. “City are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the chance to play for the club is a dream come true.
“I am also excited about working with and learning from Pep and his coaching team and getting to train and play alongside such a world-class group of players. Joining City is also a very proud moment for my family too. Now I can’t wait to get started and to play in front of our supporters.”
About his national team mate and former Manchester City player, Riyad Mahrez, he said:
“Yeah, I spoke with Riyad – I am with him in the national team, and it was the same as Matheus [Nunes, a former team-mate at Wolves]. Riyad told me about the city, and he told me to give everything for this club – one of the biggest clubs in the world – and I will try to follow him.”
A proven Premier League talent
Ait-Nouri arrives at City following a standout 2024/25 season at Wolves, where he made 41 appearances in all competitions, scored 5 goals, and provided 7 assists—a clear reflection of his attacking prowess from the left flank.
