Real Oviedo midfielder, Kwesi Sibo, has reacted to his debut call-up for the Ghana National Team ahead of matchday 8 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
The 27-year-old earned a late invite to the Black Stars ahead of their crunch encounter against Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday, September 8.
The four-time African champions gave away a one-goal lead to draw 1-1 against Chad in N’Djamena on Thursday, September in match day 7.
Sibo, who is expected to add stability to coach Otoo Addo’s squad, shared some words with the media upon arrival at the Kotoka International Airport.
“Every individual player has his qualities, and I always try to improve on my qualities. As a box-to-box midfielder, you have to work on your stamina, and you have to be tactical as well.
“If people talk about the Black Stars, I always say that God’s time is the best because all the players that are called up deserve it,” Kwesi Sibo said.
“So I am always waiting for my time, and I am always waiting for the right time.” He added.
Kwesi Sibo played a key role in Real Oviedo’s promotion to La Liga last season, where he featured in all three games. They have won a game in three matches this campaign so far.
Ghana leads Group I with 16 points, with Madagascar jumping into second place on 13 points after beating the Central African Republic 2-0, while Mali and Comoros share 12 points apiece. The Central African Republic have five points, and Chad earned their first points after holding Ghana to a 1-1 draw in match day seven.
