Report clarifies eligibility of Reda Slim to face Al Ahly in CAF Champions League

Moroccan winger Reda Slim will be eligible to play against Al Ahly if his new club, AS FAR (Royal Army), meet the Egyptian champions in next season’s CAF Champions League, according to Moroccan outlet El Botola.

Slim joined AS FAR on a season-long loan from Al Ahly, and while reports had suggested that the Cairo giants requested a clause preventing him from playing against them, sources confirm the deal includes no such restriction.

AS FAR will compete in the 2025/26 CAF Champions League, but Slim’s participation will depend on his recovery from a knee injury sustained in April. The 25-year-old is currently in the final phase of his rehabilitation.

Reda Slim signed for Al Ahly in the summer of 2023 from AS FAR and remains under contract with the club until 2027. Since joining, he has made 44 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals and providing three assists.
