Al-Hilal Omdurman coach Laurentiu Reghecampf has described his team’s CAF Champions League (CAFCL) exit as painful to accept.
The Sudanese giants lost the quarter final second leg 1-0 to RS Berkane on Sunday to bow out of the continental league campaign via a 2-1 aggregate score.

Carrying a healthy one-all draw from the quarterfinal away first leg tie, Al-Hilal ended up losing at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda, courtesy of Mounir Chouiar’s strike.
Reflecting on his team’s performance as quoted by New Times of Rwanda, the Romanian said his wards had all the chances to wrap up the game, but they were not clinical enough.
“It is football—things happen on the pitch. We cannot predict what will happen tomorrow, but we did our best. We were prepared as a team and gave everything, but the chances were not for us,” Reghecampf said.
“We had a chance because we didn’t lose the first-leg game, and we had the opportunity to decide everything at home until the 93rd minute. But we were cautious because we knew we were playing against a strong team. It is very difficult to speak after this game. We conceded in the final minute.”

The Rwandan Premier League pacesetters needed just any draw to progress to the semifinal stage. Instead, it was the Botola Pro 1 side, which is through and they will meet FAR Rabat in the last-four phase.
Al-Hilal had come back from Morocco with a point despite having finished the Champions League quarterfinal, first leg with a man down after Stephen Steven Ebuela was shown a red card.
