Current Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL)champions, Remo Stars have confirmed the departure of their long-serving captain, Nduka Junior, to Iraqi side Erbil FC.
The club announced that an agreement in principle has been reached with both parties bringing to an end Nduka’s seven-year tenure with the “Sky Blue Stars.”
The 23-year-old defender captained the team to their first-ever Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, title last season.
In an emotional tribute, Remo Stars celebrated their departing star on their official X (formerly Twitter)account, acknowledging the departure as they called him a club legend.
“Seven years of making history together. The Leadership quality you showed from the NNL to NPFL promotion, lifting the title, and now leaving a club legend.”
Nduka is a product of the club’s academy, and has been a cornerstone of the team’s success. He joined Remo Stars as a youth player and steadily rose through the ranks to become a respected leader on and off the field.
His new journey with Erbil FC is sealed with a three-year contract, a significant commitment from the Iraqi club.
