The result marks a second consecutive win for Abd’Allah, following a hard-fought 2-1 home triumph against Nasarawa United on March 15.
Abd’Allah, who recently succeeded Daniel Ogunmodede, expressed his relief as the club begins to overturn a dismal run of form in the domestic top flight.
Reflecting on the crucial three points, Abd’Allah noted that the tactical shift is starting to yield results, despite some late nerves in previous outings.
“The plan is progressing well. Our goal was to secure these six points across two games, and we’ve achieved that. In our last match, we nearly lost focus and the result, but thankfully, we pulled through.”
Even after falling behind early against Kwara United, the coach remained confident in his squad’s performance.
“Even at 1-0 down today, I kept faith because the boys were playing well. The issue wasn’t the performance, but simply that the goals weren’t falling. Once they started coming, we finished with three. I am very happy with how the new players are responding.”
The Relegation Dogfight
Despite the recent surge—winning three of their last four matches against Nasarawa United, Kwara United, and Katsina United—the defending champions remain in treacherous waters.
Remo Stars currently sit 18th in the standings with 36 points, level with Wikki Tourists and Enyimba in a congested battle for survival. Their momentum was briefly halted by a bruising 4-1 defeat at the hands of Rangers International, making every upcoming fixture a “must-win.”
