Rennes head coach Habib Beye has received strong support from the club’s hierarchy after a slow start to the 2025/26 French Ligue 1 season. The Senegalese coach extended his stay at the Breton club at the end of last season, with Rennes avoiding relegation.

Stade Rennais have recorded only two wins in five matches and currently sit 10th with ten points. Beye has been under heavy pressure following the club’s investment during the transfer window.
Sporting director Loic Desire admitted the results are unfavorable and that they have discussed them with Beye. “There are so many rumors; that is not what interests me. We obviously talked among ourselves, and when I see what happens on a daily basis, I know that there is no ambiguity. There were discussions and questions to try to understand why we slipped up in certain matches.”
Desire stated that they are backing Beye as he shrugged off dismissal rumors. “We are with him every day. We are there to help him, we meet, we see the players… We are all mobilized! We need to take a step back for overall reflection.”
The former Red Star FC coach was named Rennes coach in the middle of the 2024/25 season. On his Ligue 1 debut, he managed to keep Rennes in the league despite a relegation scare. He has a contract that runs until the end of the current season.
