Rinsola Babajide marked her first start for AS Roma with a goal on Sunday, opening her account for the Giallorosse in a 3-0 victory over Sassuolo from the Serie A Women’s Cup.

The win at the Stadio Tre Fontane secured AS Roma’s spot in the competition’s semifinals and provided a moment of triumph for the new signing, who has been vocal about her desire to win silverware with her new club.

AS Roma immediately asserted their dominance. The opening goal came in the 21st minute as Babajide’s early strike set the tone for a dominant performance from the home side.

The Giallorosse continued to control the match, with Sassuolo struggling to create meaningful chances. Just before halftime, they doubled their lead when Giada Greggi found the back of the net in the 45th minute, sending the team into the break with a strong advantage.

The second half saw a more settled Roma side, and they completed the scoring in the later stages when Alayah Pilgrim found the back of the net in the 88th minute to secure a comprehensive 3-0 win and advance to the next round of the cup.

After her debut goal, Babajide couldn’t hold back her excitement on social media.

“Proud moment to score my first goal for AS Roma Women & through to the Semi Finals Thank you Lord for the victory.”

AS Roma’s next opponent in the semifinals is yet to be determined, but the Giallorosse will be confident heading into the knockout stages.
