Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Rivers United have qualified for the CAF Champions League after defeating Mozambique club, Black Bulls 3-1 in the second leg of the second preliminary round tie at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, Nigeria on Saturday.
The pride of Rivers came into the second leg with a 0-1 defeat from the CAF Champions League second preliminary round first leg at the Lalgy Arena in Matola, Maputo, Mozambique, but their 3-1 victory means they qualified 3-2 on aggregate.
Coach Findi George side wasted no time as Wasiu Falolu broke the deadlock just 15 minutes into play.
Rivers United doubled their advantage from the penalty spot in 42nd minute through Maclyn Biokpo, ending the first half 2-0.
However it was the Black Bulls who struck first in the second half with just two minutes of play through Moctar Diallo.
But the host had the last laugh in the 76th minute when a Timothy Zachariah super strike found the net, to send Rivers United to the CAF Champions League.
