Robin van Persie insists Moussa is staying at Feyenoord

Feyenoord head coach Robin van Persie has shut the door on the departure of Anis Hadj Moussa from the club during the transfer window.

The former Dutch international said he is keeping the young Algerian striker at the club.

The 23-year-old Algerian reportedly agreed personal terms with Benfica, but that deal now looks to be off. Benfica are reluctant to match the Rotterdam-based side’s asking price, and Van Persie is adamant about keeping Moussa at the club.

The former striker explained that Moussa is not for sale.

“It is not the right time for Anis Hadj Moussa to leave the club. I understand that many clubs are interested in him, but we want to keep our best players. In principle, he is staying. He has a contract that only expires in 2029.”

Moussa joined Feyenoord in 2024 after a successful spell at Vitesse, where he was a standout performer for six months. Feyenoord is determined to keep their rising star, as Brazilian striker Igor Paixão could leave the club.

Moussa was born in Paris, France, but represents Algeria. He has made a handful of appearances for the senior side since 2024.
