Unstoppable Rogers Mato hits 12th goal as Vardar march on

Uganda national team forward Rogers Mato is enjoying a blistering run of form in North Macedonia and his club FK Vardar continue to ride on that momentum.

The 22-year-old was once again the difference-maker on Sunday, sealing Vardar’s 3–1 victory over Tikves with a composed finish that settled the nerves of the home crowd.

His strike, the third of the game, underlined his growing influence and lethal touch in front of goal.

That goal took Mato’s tally to 12 this season, making him the joint top scorer in the Macedonian top flight alongside Bassirou Compaoré of Struga.

His consistency has been central to Vardar’s dominance as they sit top of the 12-team table with 33 points from 13 matches, maintaining their unbeaten streak and strengthening their title ambitions.

Vardar will travel to face Shkupi on November 23

Mato’s form has been electric, the former Proline FC attacker has now scored in three straight matches, finding the net against Sileks, Pelister, and Tikves.

His confidence and precision in front of goal have turned him into one of the league’s standout performers.

Next up, Vardar travel to face Shkupi on November 23 after the international break, and Mato will be looking to extend his scoring run to four consecutive games.

For now, attention turns to national duty. The in-form forward has joined up with the Uganda Cranes squad for the upcoming international friendlies against Chad and Morocco, where he’ll hope to translate his club heroics onto the international stage.
