Ivory Coast youngster, Romeo Amane was on the score sheet but his goal did little to save Rapid Wien against BW Linz in the Austria Bundesliga on Wednesday

Rapid were pegged back early in the game by the home side when Mali midfielder, Soumaila Diabate took advantage of a miscommunication to set up Brazilian, Ronivaldo Bernado for Linz’s opener on the 24th minute.

The home side held on to the slim lead onto the stroke of half time with the visitors proving to be tough customers to deal with. However Linz quickly increased their tally on the 47th minute with Simon Seidl shoveling home the second goal from a perfectly laid pass from Kristijan Dobras.

Ivory Coast midfielder, Romeo Amane was introduced into the game by Rapid on the 46th minute for Lukas Grgic and he quickly made an impact at the Hofmann Personal Stadion.

After a goalmouth melee, a poor clearance fell the way of the 21-year-old, who smashed home from few meters away from the penalty box. The goal will just be a consolation as it was little too late to save Rapid from the claws of defeat, ending the game at 2-1 for Linz.

Romeo Amane has played four matches and the goal was his first of the season. Rapid Wien currently sit 5th on the league table with 20 points with BW Linz on 6th on 19 points from 27 matches played.
