Wydad Athletic Club coach Rulani Mokwena has vented his frustrations at being the most passionate person pushing people to win at the Moroccan club.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach said this in a post-match press conference after a 2-1 victory over Union Touarga on Sunday. Mokwena then highlighted challenges his team needs to address and the players needed to reinforce the Botola Pro team.

“It is a difficult window because you have to try to improve the team and get the players that have game rhythm, that are playing and number two, we have to get players that are better than what we have and already we have got good players,” he said.

He then lamented the attitude of some of his players who lack a winning mentality and need to be pushed all the time.

“I don't think our problems are defensive per se. We have challenges that are little bit deeper than that.  You will not find me coming here and criticize the players but I accept that we have a lot of challenges,” he explained.

“We have to improve and we have to improve fast because at this moment the reaction in the second half is late. I am tired of being the most passionate person at Wydad. I am tired of being the only one that is really pushing and wants the people and club to do well because this is a big club.”

Wydad remain fifth in the standings, nine points behind leaders RS Berkane who have two games in hand. The next league assignment for Mokwena and his wards will be on the road to face Difaâ El Jadida on January 19, 2025.
