Rwanda National Team coach Adel Amrouche is optimistic about Fiacre Ntwari's potential, even as the goalkeeper faces an uncertain future at Kaizer Chiefs.
Amrouche believes Ntwari, at 25, is "one for the future," citing his age and inherent qualities. However, Ntwari's first season at Chiefs, following his July 2024 transfer from TS Galaxy, proved challenging.
Despite quickly becoming a regular under coach Nasreddine Nabi, an injury sustained during Rwanda's 2025 AFCON qualifiers led to a drop in the pecking order, placing him behind Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen.
Despite being starved of game time at Amakhosi, Ntwari has been a key player for the Rwandan National Team, consistently featuring in FIFA World Cup qualifiers. These strong international performances have reportedly drawn interest from a French club.
And with the transfer window approaching, Chiefs may consider selling the former APR goalkeeper to free up a foreign player slot.
His coach at national team level, Amrouche, concerned by Ntwari's lack of game time at the club level, highlighted the attributes that make him a promising talent.
“He plays well with his feet, he is tall and has good reflexes. He gives confidence to the defence. His behaviour is exemplary and he’s very positive within the team and demonstrates a high level of professionalism," said Amrouche as quoted by FARPost.
“He’s really the future, not only for Rwanda, but for African football as well. Besides his technique and how well he plays with the ball, he has a good personality. I honestly think he can be one of the best goalkeepers in Africa.”
