Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman are making themselves comfortable in the Rwanda Premier League after securing their ninth consecutive league victory with a 2-0 result over reigning champions APR FC on Tuesday.
The 2025-26 CAF Champions League participants made a statement against Rwanda’s dominant club and established themselves as the firm favorites to win the league title. Senegalese midfielder Madické Kane’s excellent first half free kick set the tone to give his club the halftime lead.
Liberian international Emmanuel Flomo finished off the victory in the final half hour. A pass from the midfield sent Jean Claude Girumugisha down the left wing and the Burundian crossed low for Flomo to apply the finishing touch.

The Sudanese club champions now lead by one point but have played three less matches than Tuesday’s rivals. After a period of adjustment to their new surroundings that saw them suffer a couple of defeats while engaged in multiple competitions, the guest club are dominating the Rwandan top flight just like they did last season when they were guests in Mauritania’s top flight Super D1.
Next up is a massive Champions League match on Saturday when Kigali will play host to Hilal’s clash with Congolese club FC Saint-Éloi Lupopo. Despite leading Group C, only three points separates Hilal from Lupopo who are in fourth place.
