Kenya striker Ryan Ogam sets season target for new club Wolfsberger AC

Kenya national team Harambee Stars striker Ryan Ogam has set a target of scoring 10 goals for new Austrian Bundesliga club Wolfsberger AC this season.

Speaking for the first time since signing for the club from Kenya Premier League outfit Tusker FC, Ogam said he was excited to take up the new challenge.

“My target is to score 10 or more goals this season. I want to start my career in Austria on a high, and I am excited to give everything for my new club,” said Ogam as quoted by Telecomasia.net.

“This is a massive dream come true for me, and I am really excited to finally be here. I know the task ahead is huge, and I feel honoured to have the responsibility of flying the Kenyan flag high. I am looking forward to the challenge and I am ready for it.”

He added: “I am excited to start training with the rest of the team, immerse myself in the culture, and start playing football. My ambition is to settle in quickly, perform well, and keep scoring goals to help the team achieve its targets.”

Ogam rose to fame for Kenya during 2024 CHAN

Ogam, who joined Tusker in 2023, enjoyed a meteoric rise in both domestic and international football. Originally signed as a midfielder, he was converted into a striker and went on to score 15 goals in 17 appearances in the 2024/25 FKF Premier League season.

However, he rose to fame for Harambee Stars during the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament co-hosted in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, where he scored decisive goals against Morocco and Zambia, further underlined his potential.

He was also on target for Kenya as they suffered a 3-1 defeat against Gambia in their 2025 FIFA World Cup qualifying fixtures before notching a brace in the 5-0 walloping of Seychelles.
