Mané opened the scoring with a volley from a cross by Marcelo Brozović in the 10th minute but after Steven Bergwijn leveled for Al Ittihad six minutes later, Mané was sent off with a straight red card before the half hour mark.
Arriving in the Ittihad penalty area to challenge for a ball that was collected by goalkeeper Hamed Al-Shanqiti, Mané was engaged in a tussle with defender Danilo Pereira and stuck his foot in to make contact with Al-Shanqiti’s chest. In a highly disputed decision, Mané was issued a red card that reduced Al Nassr to ten players.

However, Al Ittihad failed to take advantage of their numerical advantage and it was Al Nassry who surprisingly emerged as the winners. João Félix’s 61st minute winner from Cristiano Ronaldo’s assist gave Nassr a lead that they held onto without too much trouble against the reigning Saudi Pro League and King Cup champions.

Al Nassr, who qualified for the four-team tournament by virtue of finishing third in the Saudi Pro League last season, await the winner of tomorrow’s semifinal between Al Qadsiah and Al Ahli. Al Ahli, 5th place finishers in the league last season and the reigning AFC Champions League winners, replaced Al Hilal who withdrew from the Super Cup.
The final is set for Saturday in Hong Kong. Mané and Al Nassr begin their league campaign on August 29 away at Al Taawoun.
