In a stunning and emotional development, Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah has officially announced that he will leave Liverpool FC at the end of the current season, bringing an unforgettable chapter to a close.
Salah revealed the decision through a video posted across his official social media platforms, confirming that his journey with the Reds is nearing its end.
Speaking in the video, Salah said:
“Hello everyone, unfortunately, the day has come… this is the first part of my farewell… I will be leaving Liverpool at the end of this season.”
The 33-year-old forward expressed gratitude to everyone who was part of the club throughout his time there, specially his past and present teammates.
He also addressed the fans saying that he doesn’t have enough words, the support they showed him through his best time of his career and they stood by him in the toughest time, these things he will never forget.
The timing of the announcement adds further weight to the moment, as it comes while Salah is currently sidelined with an injury sustained during a recent match against Galatasaray. The injury ruled him out of Liverpool’s latest Premier League clash against Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as Egypt’s ongoing international camp.
Since joining Liverpool in the summer of 2017 from AS Roma, Salah has cemented his legacy as one of the greatest players in the club’s history. Over the course of 435 appearances, he scored an incredible 226 goals and provided 111 assists, becoming a symbol of consistency, excellence, and big-game impact.
During his time at Anfield, Salah played a pivotal role in one of the most successful eras in the club’s modern history. He helped Liverpool secure every major trophy, including the Premier League (twice), three League Cups, the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, and the Community Shield.
Salah’s departure marks the end of an era not only for Liverpool but for global football, as one of the game’s most iconic figures is going to take the next step in his illustrious career.
