Ryan Gravenberch opened the scoring for Liverpool in the 35th minute before Hugo Ekitike doubled the lead early in the second half. Newcastle fought back with goals from Bruno Guimaraes and William Osula to level the match at 2-2. But Salah stepped up in the 100th minute, setting up Rio Ngoma for the dramatic winner.
With that assist, the Egyptian winger has now registered nine assists against Newcastle in his career—more than against any other opponent.
Newcastle United – 9 assists
Manchester City – 8 assists
West Ham United – 7 assists
Brighton – 7 assists
Manchester United – 6 assists
Aston Villa – 6 assists
Tottenham – 5 assists

Salah, who also scored in Liverpool’s opening-day win over Bournemouth, has now started the new Premier League season with both a goal and an assist, continuing his record as one of the league’s most influential players.
Meanwhile, Liverpool continued their perfect start with back-to-back wins in the Premier League.
