Jurgen Klopp has admitted he was sad to see Egypt forward Mohamed Salah confirm his exit from Premier League outfit Liverpool at the end of the season.
Salah will bid farewell upon the conclusion of his ninth campaign as a Red and as one of the greatest to have ever worn the shirt. The forward reached an agreement with the Reds that will see him close a remarkable nine-year chapter at Anfield.

He expressed his wish to make this announcement to the supporters at the earliest possible opportunity to provide transparency about his future due to his respect and gratitude for them.
Reacting to his exit, Klopp, who was part of Salah’s history at Anfield, told BBC Sport before an LFC Legends charity game: “Salah is an incredible professional.
“He set completely new standards for a professional football player – how hard you can work; how much you can invest in recovery and everything.”
Klopp added: “Now he leaves here but I would not be surprised if he plays another six or seven years.
“I’m sad but he’s an all-time great without a shadow of a doubt and I’m really proud to be a part of that career.”
Klopp continued: “He knows this was the perfect club for him and he was the perfect player for us.
“Mo and I had big dreams, but we didn’t dare to dream that big. I’m not sure we can appreciate it to the right extent – that will happen soon now. I wish him the best of luck because he deserves it.
“The numbers he produced and the standards he set, some of them, if not all, will stay unmatched in this modern Premier League era, definitely, because it’s ridiculous to do that, and to do it for one club more or less.”
On how they worked with Salah, he said: “Salah is “one of the best” professionals and people he has met.
“We texted the other day and we had our arguments, but it was always for the right reasons. It’s always fine, especially now looking back, it’s more than fine. And we are both really happy about being part of that incredible journey.”
On whether it was time to Salah to leave Liverpool, Klopp responded: “It’s not about me to make that decision but I think it’s right that there’s an agreement.
“I really think the whole relationship was a fair deal. An exceptional player, exceptional numbers, and he earned some money, of course. And now he can go wherever he wants and the club will have to find and will find other players, and that’s absolutely OK.
“After all these years there should be no bad sentiment at all and as far as I’m concerned, I can’t see any.”
Signed from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, Salah firmly established himself as one of the greatest players in Liverpool’s history, helping the club to two Premier League titles, the Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup and two League Cups, as well as an FA Community Shield.
Salah’s tally of 255 goals in 435 appearances to date has the Egyptian sitting third on the Reds’ all-time leading goalscorers chart, winning the Premier League Golden Boot on four occasions in addition to a host of personal accolades.
