Samartex 0-0 Hearts: “We didn’t play well enough to beat Samartex” – Aboubakar Ouattara

Ghana Premier League giants, Hearts of Oak dropped valuable points at the Nsekyire Sports Stadium against Samartex in the last game of the first round of the season.


The Phobians had not won a game in Samreboi in as many as five clashes against Samartex and they needed to win to keep chase on the league title very much intact.


However, the home side looked better with various goal scoring chances with the Phobians on a minimal opportunities in both halves, pegging the entire proceedings at goalless in full time.


The first ever points clawed from the Nsenkyire Sports Arena leaves Hearts of Oak manager, Aboubakar Ouattara asking questions about the performance of his charges.


“We wanted to win today but unfortunately we could not score, we didn’t create more chances, we created one or two but unfortunately we didn’t play well to score but no problem, we take the point,” Ouattara said.


“I think the Samartex goalkeeper did well for one or two chances we created especially the last ball. We were expecting Kwabena Boateng to score but unfortunately the goalkeeper took it.


“The defence also disturbed us and the midfield, we could not play well like the way we want to play but it is ok with one point, ” Ouattara said.


Hearts of Oak sit 5th on the league table with 29 points and will shift their focus to the second round where they will open that department in Basake against Holy Stars, a side they lost 1-0 to, in the opening game of the first round.
