Ghanaian winger Samuel Owusu has joined Israeli Liga Leumit side Maccabi Petah Tikva FC in a bid to strengthen their squad for a top flight push next season.
The 29-year-old former Black Stars forward joins from Serbian top-flight side OFK Beograd, where he was a key member of the squad during the 2024/25 season. Owusu made 23 league appearances, scoring three goals and providing two assists in last term’s campaign as Beograd finished 4th in the Serbian SuperLiga.
With 17 caps for Ghana, Owusu brings a wealth of international experience and attacking flair to Petah Tikva’s squad.
The speedster is expected to play a key role in the club’s offensive setup as they target a swift return to the top tier of Israeli football.
Owusu began his professional journey in Europe in 2014 after leaving Ghanaian outfit Vision FC. Since then, he has featured for clubs in Serbia, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, including notable stints with Al-Fayha and Al-Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, as well as Genclebirligi in Turkey.
His vast experience across multiple leagues and his proven track record on the international stage make him a valuable addition to Petah Tikva’s ambitions for the upcoming campaign.
