Crystal Palace are looking like anything but a midtable Premier League team at the moment. The Eagles cruised to another victory on Tuesday with Ismaïla Sarr assisting in a 4-2 victory to overcome Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Senegal national team winger Sarr set up Eddie Nketiah for his second goal of the match in the 32nd minute, giving Palace a 2-1 lead to overcome an early deficit. Ben Chilwell’s free kick early in the second half helped the hosts hold off an attempt at a rally from Wolves who have now lost two matches in a row following a six-match winning streak.
Midseason transfer Emmanuel Agbadou gave Wolves the lead in the 24th minute when he nodded in following a corner kick. The Ivorian central defender has been one of the major revelations of the Premier League season since arriving in the January transfer window but his first Premier League goal was not enough on the day for Wolves.
Palace have now gone seven games unbeaten in all competitions, currently sitting in 12th place on the Premier League table. The newly-crowned FA Cup champions will finish up their season on Sunday with one final challenge, a duel with Premier League champions Liverpool. Wolves, in 14th place, will host Brentford on Sunday for their final fixture.
Sarr now has seven goals and six assists with appearances in all 37 of Palace’s Premier League matches this season. For Agbadou, Tuesday marked his first goal in club football since the 2022-23 season with Stade Reims. The burly defender previously scored for Ivory Coast in a 4-0 drubbing of Chad in a November qualifying match for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
