Ismaïla Sarr and Crystal Palace are well on their way to the UEFA Conference League semifinals after a 3-0 first leg victory over Fiorentina in London to kick off their quarterfinal duel.
The Senegal national team star added a late header from Daichi Kamada’s cross to give his team extra security heading into next week’s second leg in Italy. First half goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell put The Eagles on the front foot at Selhurst Park.
The shock FA Cup champions last season have struggled some in Premier League action due to focusing on continental duty, but they continue to look like serious contenders for silverware in the Conference League. Sarr has led the charge, notching 6 goals in 11 matches in the competition to leave himself tied for third on the scoring charts.
His domestic form has not suffered either. He has 7 goals in 20 Premier League matches and has also added 3 more goals from the EFL Cup (League Cup) and Community Shield, where he starred for the London club as they stunned league champions Liverpool 3-2. He now has an excellent record of 16 goals from 33 matches across all competitions.

There will only be three days before Palace return to action with a home match against Newcastle United in the Premier League before they travel to Florence for their second leg date with Fiorentina next Thursday.
