Satulo completes returns to UPL

UPDF FC have bolstered their defensive line with the acquisition of experienced centre-back Edward Satulo, who has penned a two-year contract with the Army side.

The towering defender makes his return to the Uganda Premier League (UPL) after three seasons away, during which he featured in Rwanda for AS Kigali and Kenya for Bandari FC.

Satulo left Wakiso Giants in 2022 to join AS Kigali in the Rwanda Premier League, before moving to Bandari FC of Kenya in July 2023.

Before his stints abroad, Satulo had already established himself in Ugandan football. He previously represented Gomba, Bulemeezi, and Ssingo in the Masaza Cup, captaining his sides to championship victories in 2017 and 2018.

His arrival comes at a time of change for UPDF FC, who recently appointed Alex Gitta as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 UPL season. The club will be hoping Satulo’s wealth of experience adds solidity and leadership at the back as they prepare for the new campaign.
