The development was confirmed on Thursday evening by the chairperson of the club’s electoral commission, Brian Kajubi, during a briefing held in Kulambiro, Kampala.

The aspirants who have so far expressed interest in the top seat include the incumbent Hajji Omar Ahmed Hussein, alongside Joseph Muguluma Mbazzi, Bulezi Kawuma, Denis Ssebugwawo Mbidde and Hajji Farouk Meywa.
Kajubi assured club members and stakeholders that the commission is committed to delivering a credible electoral exercise guided strictly by the club’s electoral laws.
“The SC Villa Electoral Commission shall comply with the electoral laws with fairness and transparency. We are committed to delivering a peaceful and democratic process and shall not bow to external forces. We shall be guided by the legal instruments under the SC Villa electoral code,” Kajubi stated.
According to the commission’s roadmap, the deadline for returning nomination forms is 7th March, while the club’s trustees will conduct the vetting process on 8th March 2026. Any electoral complaints will then be handled by the club’s Adhoc Committee on 10th March 2026.
The presidential elections are scheduled for 22nd March 2026.
SC Villa remains one of Uganda’s most decorated clubs, having won a record seventeen Uganda Premier League titles in 1982, 1984, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2002–03, 2003–04 and most recently the 2023-24 season.
