SC Villa tie down Patrick Kakande with contract renewal until 2027

SC Villa have officially tied down winger Patrick Jonah Kakande to a fresh two-year contract, putting an end to growing speculation about his future.

In recent weeks, the record champions’ prized asset had been linked with a possible move to rivals Vipers SC, while reports also hinted at interest from clubs abroad. However, the versatile attacker—known for his pace, flair, and ability to operate both on the wing and as a number 10 has committed to staying with the Jogoos until at least 2027.

Kakande, who joined SC Villa three years ago, has established himself as one of the side’s standout performers. His influence was pivotal in helping the club clinch a record-extending league title, a campaign in which he was also crowned the 2023/24 Uganda Premier League Player of the Season.

His consistent form has earned him back-to-back call-ups to the Uganda Cranes senior team, building on his impressive displays with Morley Byekwaso’s CHAN squad.

Before joining Villa, Kakande honed his talent with Uganda Martyrs High School and was a key figure for Bulemeezi in the 2022 Masaza Cup.
