Sekhukhune United have confirmed the departures of defender ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Njabulo Ngcobo and midfielder Relebogile Mokhuoane ahead of the new season.
The club announced on Friday that mutual agreements were reached with both players, while also stating that Congolese marksman, Andy Boyeli, has joined Tanzania Premier League champions Yanga SC on loan.
Ngcobo, a former Chiefs centre-back, joined Sekhukhune in July 2024 as a free agent after his contract with Amakhosi was not renewed. However, his time with the Limpopo-based club was brief, with the 31-year-old making just six appearances across all competitions last season.
He is now in search of a new home, and it has been reported that the Ngcobo is in talks with newly promoted Betway Premiership side Durban City FC.
Meanwhile, Mokhuoane also arrived at Sekhukhune in July last year on a free transfer, following his release from Cape Town City FC, who will play their football in the second-tier league following their relegation from the South African top-flight last season.
The central midfielder featured in 20 games for Eric Tinkler’s side last season, contributing two goals and one assist.
Sekhukhune released a brief statement confirming the exits: “The club has officially parted ways with Relebogile Mokhuoane and Njabulo Ngcobo on a mutual separation. We thank them for their contributions and wish them all the best.”
They will kick off their new season with an MTN8 quarter-final clash against TS Galaxy on Saturday evening, at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
