Semenyo fires Manchester City past Leeds to keep title race alive

Ghana international Antoine Semenyo proved the difference as Manchester City secured a narrow 1–0 away victory over Leeds United at Elland Road in Matchday 28 of the Premier League.

The only goal of the contest arrived in the 45th minute. Semenyo capitalized on a low cross from Algerian full-back Rayan Aït-Nouri, guiding the ball into the net to hand City a crucial three points in their pursuit of the title.

The narrow win keeps Manchester City firmly in the championship race, as they move to 59 points — just two behind leaders Arsenal. For Leeds, the defeat leaves them on 31 points in 15th place.

Marmoush Reaches Milestone

The match also carried special significance for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, who started the game and featured until the 68th minute before being replaced by Brazilian winger Savinho.

It marked Marmoush’s 50th appearance for Manchester City across all competitions, a milestone made possible in part due to the continued injury absence of Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.

While it was not a prolific attacking display from City, Semenyo’s clinical finish ensured Pep Guardiola’s side returned from Elland Road with maximum points — and maintained pressure at the summit of the Premier League table.
