Semenyo elated to be at Man City: ‘I’m enjoying every moment’

Ghana international Antoine Semenyo admitted he was enjoying start to life at Manchester City after he scored his second goal against Newcastle United on Tuesday.

Semenyo continued his impressive start with Man City after he scored, and played a key role in his side’s crucial 2-0 away victory in the Carabao Cup semi-final against the Magpies.

Against Newcastle, Semenyo scored from long range in the 53rd, and he was denied a brace later on after his clever flick found the net, but a lengthy VAR review disallowed the goal for Erling Haaland being in an offside position.

‘I’m picking things up very quickly’

“The whole environment here is perfect,” said Semenyo after the game as quoted by Man City website. “Everyone is confident and wanting to achieve the best.

“I’ve just come into that and they’ve helped me with my confidence and they’ve made me feel welcome. It’s been a lot, definitely been a lot, but I’m enjoying it so far, I’m definitely picking things up very quickly. I’m enjoying it.

“I’m taking the confidence from Bournemouth to here. I’m playing with a smile on my face. I’m enjoying every moment.”

On facing Newcastle, he said: “It was a tough game. We just had to stick in there, we knew we would get chances. I was just in the right area to tap it in and we’re victorious so we’re happy.”

With this result, Manchester City took a big step towards reaching the Carabao Cup final, ahead of the second leg at home in front of their fans.
