Young Ghana defender Semeu Commey has signed for Portugal top flight side, Estrela da Amadora.

The Primeira Liga side officially announced the signing of the centre-back from third-tier club, CD Trofense. The 20-year-old has penned a three-year contract, which will keep him at Estadio Jose Gomes until 2028.

The club confirmed the deal on their official website, stating, "Semeu Commey is the latest star signing and signs until 2028."

Commey, who developed through the youth ranks of Boavista FC, had been a key player for Trofense since joining them in the 2023-24 season. In the ongoing 2024-25 Liga 3 campaign, he featured in 18 matches, scoring one goal and assisting once, proving to be a crucial asset in the team's defence.

Having gained valuable experience in Portugal’s lower divisions, Commey now steps up to the elite level with Estrela da Amadora, aiming to make an impact in the top flight.

Despite his rise in club football, Commey is yet to be capped by the Ghana men's senior national team, the Black Stars.

However, with his move to a higher division, he will be hoping to catch the attention of national selectors in the near future.
