Senegal national team defender Mamadou Sarr has spoken regarding his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 final against host nation Morocco.

The AFCON 2025 final will see Morocco face Senegal on Sunday at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

According to Moroccan outlet Al Botola after Senegal secured qualification for the final, Sarr said:

“I am preparing for the match. I don’t know if I will play on Sunday, but everyone is getting ready. I hope everyone will be fit and ready.”

The Lions of Teranga defender added:

“I am very happy to continue writing history, and I hope we can beat Morocco and return to Senegal with our second African title.”

Mamadou Sarr featured as a substitute in Senegal’s semi-final clash against Egypt, coming on for captain Kalidou Koulibaly after the defender picked up an injury.

Morocco booked their place in the final after defeating Nigeria on penalties (4-2) in the semi-finals, following a goalless draw after both regulation and extra time.

On the other hand, Lions of Teranga reached the AFCON final by overcoming Egypt in the semi-finals with a 1-0 victory, courtesy of a decisive goal scored by winger Sadio Mane.
