Senegal U-20 international Mame Faye produced two excellent goals in a Man of the Match performance for Turkish second tier side Esenlor Erokspor in Monday’s 3-1 victory over Çorum.
The 20-year-old, who moved to Turkish football shortly after his 18th birthday, stole the spotlight with two spectacular goals in the final thirty minutes to give his team the victory. After Nigerian forward Olarenwaju Kayode’s opener was cancelled out by halftime due to a penalty kick from visitors Çorum, Faye took over with a splendid strike from distance in the 69th minute.
The Senegalese forward then finished off the victory in the 83rd minute with a clever flick over the advancing goalkeeper after getting on the end of a pass from Hamza Catakovic.
Faye has been in and out of the eleven for Erokspor but on Monday, he put an end to a nine-match scoreless drought. With 8 goals in 34 league appearances since joining the Istanbul-based club last season from Caykur Rizespor, the Saint-Louis native showed confidence and the potential to take his game to the next level as his club moved into first place on the table.
