Senegal national team coach Pape Thiaw has discussed their friendly fixture against Brazil during the November FIFA window.
The Lions of Teranga will face both Kenya and Brazil as part of their preparations for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Speaking ahead of the two matches, coach Thiaw said he will use the opportunity to gauge his squad’s preparedness ahead of the AFCON showdown in Morocco.
“Yes, Senegal vs. Brazil is a prestige match. We have certainly played Brazil twice. This will be the third time. The last two matches ended in a draw, I think in Singapore, and a victory in Lisbon, if I remember correctly,” Thiaw told a press conference as quoted by Pulse Sports.
“Now, there will be a match in London. So, we know that Brazil is a team that needs no introduction. It is a very good team, and as we say, in preparation matches, it serves to prepare things, to solidify what we have achieved, and also to try to correct things.”
He added: “And I think that against teams like Brazil, we can find all these things, and it will allow us, if we have to rectify things, and there will surely be some, we will rectify them before this Africa Cup of Nations, which is close to our hearts.
“So there you go, and to leave with all the means and be ready to be able to go and defend, go and seek this title, which is the Africa Cup of Nations.”
Senegal will first take on Brazil on Saturday, November 15, before meeting Kenya on Tuesday, November 18 in Antalya, Turkey.
