Former Senegal U-17 national team star Amara Diouf is on the verge of sealing a move to Turkish outfit Fenerbahçe. The 2023 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations champion will be leaving Génération Foot to play in Europe next season.

According to Turkish journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, Fenerbahçe has reached an agreement with Amara Diouf after a proposed move to French Ligue 1 newcomers FC Metz failed to materialize. Metz and Génération Foot have a strong partnership and Diouf’s move to Metz seemed imminent before Fenerbahçe intervened. Many Génération Foot players have taken the same path to join Metz, but for Diouf, the story will be different.

The 16-year-old prodigy caught the attention of many European clubs during the 2023 U17 AFCON, where he finished as the tournament’s top scorer with five goals. He was also called up to the senior national team and made an appearance in a friendly match against Rwanda.
