Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has confirmed the return of Senegalese midfielder Pape Matar Sarr ahead of their Premier League fixtures against Wolves on Saturday.
Sarr, who scored in Spurs’ 3-0 win at West Ham United, missed the League Cup third round victory at home to Doncaster Rovers with a thigh strain.
“Everyone from midweek is available again. Pape was a precaution, he trained today, so that’s a positive,” said Frank as quoted by Tottenham website. “It happened in training. I think Pape ran into him so you have to blame Pape. No, it was just an accident. Dead legs can be quick things or they can drag on.”
Last season, Sarr played in 35 of Tottenham’s 41 matches across all competitions, scoring three goals and providing three assists in the Premier League. He also played for the Senegal squad in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), and was on the shortlist for the CAF Player of the Year award.
He formed a strong midfield partnership with Malian international Yves Bissouma and was a key part of Spur’s strong unbeaten start to the season under manager Ange Postecoglou.
