For the second consecutive Bundesliga match, Serhou Guirassy found a late winner to give Borussia Dortmund another dramatic victory on Saturday with a 2-1 result at Wolfsburg.

The Guinean was on the spot to strike in the 87th minute after Lukas Nmecha and Fabio Silva attempted to combine in the penalty area. When Silva’s pass just missed Nmecha, Guirassy seized the opportunity to fire in a first-time strike past goalkeeper Kamil Grabara.
A strong first half put the visitors ahead through Julian Brandt close to halftime, but hosts Wolfsburg showed a new face in the second half. Set piece specialist Maximilian Arnold whipped in a dangerous free kick from the right wing in the 52nd minute and Konstantinos Koulierakis produced a powerful header that was too much for BVB keeper Gregor Kobel to handle.
Despite the poor performance in the second half, Dortmund rallied late to make the difference with a moment of quality. Nmecha’s adventurous run may not have resulted in a goal for the attacker but his efforts were crucial to set up Guirassy’s 9th Bundesliga goal of the campaign.
He now has 13 goals and 3 assists in 31 matches across all competitions. Dortmund continue to keep the pressure on leaders Bayern Munich after Saturday’s result leaves them just three points back.
