Angolan forward Zito Luvumbo is known for being rather unpredictable on the pitch for club and country but the former Primeiro de Agosto player contributed an assist in Cagliari's 2-0 Serie At victory at Hellas Verona on Monday.
The 23-year-old's cross from the right wing found its way through the Verona defense right to Leonardo Pavoletti who finished to put the visitors into the lead. A late goal from substitute Alesandro Deiola clinched all three points for Cagliari, giving them only their third victory away from home this season and the first since early January.
A victory in Monday's relegation "six-pointer" gives Cagliari a big boost in their relegation battle, moving them eight points clear of the drop zone and ahead of Verona.
Zito's form has been more inconsistent than usual since returning from an ankle injury that kept him out for over two months. However, he has made a couple of important contributions in victories down the stretch to boost his season totals to two goals and two assists in 25 appearances.
Zito and Cagliari will next host Udinese on Saturday in the midst of a favorable schedule as they get set for their final four matches.
