Nigerian forward Akor Adams is set to be sidelined after sustaining a thigh injury in training on Thursday, the club has announced.

Adams, who joined Sevilla from Ligue 1 side Montpellier last month, made his first appearance in last Saturday’s goalless draw against Getafe. However, his progress at the La Liga club has been jolted by this setback, with Sevilla yet to disclose the full extent of the injury.

A statement from the club read:

“Sevilla FC’s medical services have reported that both Sambi Lokonga and Akor Adams, who were injured in Thursday’s training session at the training ground, are suffering from pain in their right thigh.”

Sevilla are yet to provided a timeline for Adams’ recovery, but such injuries could last between four to twelve weeks depending on how severe.
