After losing three straight FKF Premier League matches, Shabana FC failed to return to winning ways following a 0-0 draw against Kariobangi Sharks at Kasarani Stadium on Saturday.
Tore Bore went into the fixture having lost 2-1 against Posta Rangers, 1-0 against Mathare United, and 2-1 against AFC Leopards. Their last league win came against Bandari – 1-0 away – on September 28.
In a game with few chances, Shabana should blame themselves for not going home with maximum points. They created the best chances compared to Sharks and had an effort ruled out for offside.
Substitute Bronson Nsubuga missed another open chance when he was put through, but his effort went inches wide. Shabana remained seventh with eight points accumulated from two wins, two draws and three defeats.
In another match, Kenya’s representatives in the CAF Confederation Cup Nairobi United suffered defeat on their return to domestic action after losing 3-0 against Sofapaka.
With only nine minutes played, Sofapaka under coach Ezekiel Akwana took the lead when Joseph Kuloba found the back of the net. In the second half, Sofapaka made a double change, Bramwell Simiyu and Ezekiel Namale coming in for Adrian Oloo and Stanley Lugalia.
Simiyu doubled Sofapaka’s lead after he pounced onto a loose ball to stab home before Japheth Mzungu wrapped up the emphatic victory for Batoto ba Mungu in the stoppages. Out of four matches, Nairobi United have collected six points to sit 13th on the 18-team league table.
For Sofapaka, the win pushed them two places up to sixth with eight points from six matches. They have managed two wins, two draws, and lost two matches.
