Former URA FC captain Shafik Kagimu has joined FK Brera Strumica on loan from fello North Macedonian club FK Rabotnicki Skopje, filling the void left by fellow Ugandan Rogers Kassim Mato who recently moved from Brera Strumica to FK Vardar.
Kagimu, 26, will stay with Brera Strumica until the end of the ongoing season, becoming the second Ugandan to feature for the club after Mato’s departure nearly two weeks ago.
His immediate challenge is helping Brera Strumica climb the table, as they currently sit 8th with 19 points from 18 games.
Kagimu joined FK Rabotnicki Skopje at the start of last season after a brief but productive stint with Kenyan giants Gor Mahia. In the first half of the ongoing 2024-25 campaign, he played 12 matches and registered one assist.
His experience and leadership qualities will be key as Brera Strumica pushes for a strong finish in the second half of the season. The club founded by North Macedonian football legend Goran Pandev currently sit in 8th place on the 12-team table.
