Recently retired Zamalek legend Mahmoud Abdel Razek “Shikabala” has expressed his gratitude to the club’s fans for their support during the team’s goalless draw against Arab Contractors in the Nile Egyptian League.
Writing on his official social media accounts, the club legend said:
“I want to thank the great Zamalek fans for their effort and support yesterday, and for the beautiful displays that lit up Cairo International Stadium. Despite the result, your presence and loyalty are the only way for Zamalek to return to its natural path.”
He added:
“Stay with us always. With your support, Zamalek will come back stronger. We are waiting for you in the next game, and we always believe victory is possible with you behind us.”
Shikabala, who announced his retirement before the start of the current season, ended a remarkable career that spanned over two decades, becoming one of the club’s most iconic figures.
Zamalek currently sit on four points after opening the season with a 2-0 victory over Ceramica Cleopatra before being held to a goalless draw by Arab Contractors.
